Wedding Officiant Services
No day is more memorable or special than your wedding day. There will be many special days in your life and moments to remember, but your wedding day is one you can plan together. It should be a day filled with love, family, friends, and joyful memories. Record it with photos and video. Fill it with music and dancing. Celebrate it with food and gifts. Sanctify it with the presence of God. And plan it with each other in mind.
Every wedding ceremony is unique. They are all special and different. There are no generic ceremonies just as there are no generic people. Each person is unique and individual and so is each wedding ceremony. Yet, each person has many similarities and so does each wedding ceremony. These elements are almost always present: the processional, opening remarks, the presentation of the bride, the message or remarks about love and marriage, the wedding vows, the exchanging of rings, the kiss, the presentation of the new couple, and the recessional. Each of these elements has many alternates and variations that can add beauty, personality, and individuality to this most exquisite day.
Dr. Carr is a licensed and ordained Christian minister (not an internet ordination), with 3 ministry related degrees who has performed 400 weddings and wedding renewal ceremonies. He is also a Pastor of a local church and has ministered to thousands of people over the last twenty years.
Here are some of the services included in the basic wedding officiant package.
- Meeting informally with the couple at his office once or twice (or until they are satisfied) to get acquainted and to discuss their wedding ceremony.
- Attending the rehearsal and leading the ceremony portion of the rehearsal. The wedding coordinator should be in charge of leading the rehearsal. Since Dr. Carr has led many weddings, he does not need the rehearsal unless there is some new venue or some very unusual addition to the ceremony. At some wedding venues such as Aldea where the wedding coordinators are already familiar with the way he performs weddings, they are able to lead the rehearsal just as well without him. Although he tries to attend most rehearsals, occasionally other scheduled events prevent his attendance.
- Working with the bride and groom to select their wedding vows.
- Leading the Wedding Ceremony. There are so many little things that can go wrong during a wedding. Since it is a live event, it really helps to have someone who is experienced and calm standing up front. Someone who can catch and fix a small mistake before it becomes a large one.
- Signing the marriage license after the ceremony. While many people don’t really consider this part or the ceremony because it is not public, it is the part which actually makes the marriage legal. It is usually done immediately afterward the ceremony with the bride, groom, minister, best man, maid of honor, and the photographer. It is an excellent opportunity for some memorable photos. Please see the section on how to obtain your marriage license. DR. CARR DOES NOT OBTAIN THE MARRIAGE LICENSE. OBTAINING THE MARRIAGE LICENSE IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF EVERY COUPLE AND MUST BE APPLIED FOR IN PERSON.
- Filing the Marriage License after the wedding. Dr. Carr will file the marriage license with the county clerk’s office after the wedding.
- Availability for questions. Dr. Carr has almost unlimited availibility by email or cell phone with all couples who have secured his services.
Pre-Marital Counseling is not included in the Basic Wedding Package. It is an extra charge, but is worth the investment. You can request further information if interested.
